India ended the first day with very satisfying score 276/3 at time of stumps. After loosing the toss it was great challenge for India to start the first innings well and make good score in the first innings .Due to rain at staring match starts at 3:55 pm according to IST. Rohit Sharma and Kl RAHUL gave a fine start to India. In the starting they didn't show much intention to hit the ball. They only try to live on the crease . After sometime Rohit Sharma took charges to hit shot. He started to hit shot on the loose ball. In one over of Sam curran Rohit Sharma hitted 5 fours.
India scored 276/3 on the opening day of the Lord's Test. India's skipper Virat Kohli was dismissed for 42 with five overs remaining, nicking Ollie Robinson to Joe Root at first slip. KL Rahul followed up his half-century in the first Test with a century in the second, as he and captain Kohli helped India consolidate their position. Before tea, England got two breakthroughs thanks to James Anderson, who clean bowled Rohit Sharma for 83 runs and caught Cheteshwar Pujara in the slips. Rohit and Rahul had earlier given the team a solid start by forming a century partnership. Rohit scored a half-century off 83 balls, his 13th in Test cricket.Before rain stopped play at Lord's, India reached 46/0 in 18.4 overs, forcing an early lunch break. After a slow start to the game, Rohit Sharma smashed four boundaries off a Sam Curran over to break the shackles and get India moving forward. Following a brief rain delay that delayed the start of the match by 20 minutes, England captain Joe Root won the toss and chose to bowl against India. Ishant Sharma has replaced Shardul Thakur in India's only chance, according to Kohli. England made three changes, with Haseeb Hameed, Moeen Ali, and Mark Wood all receiving a chance to play. Dan Lawrence, Zak Crawley, and Stuart Broad are the only players that did not make the cut.
